Water Chiller Setup Package: Pump, Fittings and Tubing

Everything needed to connect a water chiller to your plunge in one package: a circulation pump, the barbed adapter fittings sized to that pump, and vinyl tubing cut to length. Buying the parts together avoids the most common setup problem, which is ordering a fitting that does not match the pump or the tubing.

Choosing the pump

• Danner 5, 500 gph — small tubs and short runs
• Danner 9.5, 950 gph — the usual choice for a single plunge
• Danner 18, 1800 gph — larger tubs, longer runs, or a higher-output chiller

Choosing the tubing length

Measure the actual route the tubing will take, not the straight-line distance, and allow slack for bends and for moving the chiller to service it. The length quoted covers the full run, so a chiller sited 8 ft away needs more than 16 ft once corners and slack are counted. If you are between sizes, take the longer one.

Pump placement

We recommend running the pump submersed. Submersed operation keeps the pump primed, runs quieter, and puts no load on the pump inlet.

It can also be plumbed in line. If you do, hand-tighten the fitting at the inlet, do not force it, and support the weight of the pipework so it does not bear on the pump body. The inlet is the part most likely to be damaged by an over-tightened or unsupported fitting.

What is not included

The chiller itself, and any glycol. This package is for standard water chillers. Glycol chillers use different tubing and a different pump.

Returns and delivery

Change-of-mind returns accepted within 21 days of dispatch, subject to a 20% restocking fee, which is what Penguin Chillers charge us. Return freight is arranged by us and charged to you at cost, and you will have the exact figure in writing before anything is booked. Custom-configured units cannot be returned.
