Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 September 2026

This policy explains what we collect when you use amberandice.com, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.

The data controller is Primbase Ltd (registered in England and Wales, company number 17193119), trading as Amber & Ice, 37 The Loom House East Street Mills, East Street, Leeds, England, LS9 8EU. Contact us about anything in this policy at support@amberandice.com.

What we collect

  • Order information. Name, billing and delivery address, email address, phone number, and what you bought. We need the phone number because freight carriers call to schedule delivery.
  • Payment information. Handled by our payment processors. Card numbers are entered on their systems, not ours; we never see or store full card details.
  • Device and usage data. IP address, browser and operating system, referring site, and the pages you viewed, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
  • Anything you send us. The contents of emails and enquiries, including the room measurements and photographs people send when asking which unit fits.

Why we use it

To process and deliver orders, arrange freight, handle returns and warranty claims, answer your questions, detect fraud, meet our tax and accounting obligations, and (where you've agreed to it) send marketing email. We also use aggregated analytics to understand which products and pages people actually use.

Our lawful bases are: performing our contract with you (orders and delivery), legal obligation (tax and accounting records), your consent (marketing and non-essential cookies), and our legitimate interests (fraud prevention, security, and improving the store).

Who we share it with

Only the parties who need it to get your order to you:

  • Shopify, which hosts this store and processes orders
  • Payment processors handling your transaction
  • Suppliers and manufacturers, who ship directly and need your delivery address and phone number
  • Freight carriers, who need the same to schedule delivery
  • Analytics and email providers we use to run the site
  • Advertising and analytics providers, including Google, which set cookies to measure site usage and show our products to people who have visited before
  • Professional advisers and authorities, where the law requires it

We do not sell your personal information for money. We do use analytics and advertising services, including Google Analytics and Google Ads, that set cookies and similar identifiers so we can measure how the site is used and show our products to people who have visited before. Under some US state privacy laws that activity is treated as “sharing” or “targeted advertising”, and in those states you have the right to opt out of it.

You can opt out at any time on our Your Privacy Choices page. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal we treat that as an opt-out automatically, with no action needed from you.

Google's own description of how it uses data from sites that use its services is at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can control the ads you see at myadcenter.google.com.

International transfers

We are based in the United Kingdom and our suppliers and carriers are in the United States, so your information is transferred and stored across borders. Where personal data leaves the UK or EEA we rely on appropriate safeguards, including the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

Order and transaction records are kept for 6 years to satisfy tax, accounting and warranty obligations. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe. Enquiries that don't become orders are deleted once they're no longer useful to either of us.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or provide it in a portable format. You can withdraw consent to marketing at any time using the unsubscribe link or by emailing us.

If you are a California resident, you also have the right to know what we collect and disclose, the right to delete, the right to correct, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.

Email support@amberandice.com and we'll respond within the time the applicable law allows. We may need to verify who you are first, usually by confirming details of an order.

If you're in the UK and you think we've handled your data badly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We'd rather you told us first.

Cookies

Essential cookies keep your cart and session working and can't be switched off. Analytics and advertising cookies help us measure the site and reach people who have visited before. We sell only to the contiguous United States, where these are set by default rather than behind a consent banner, so if you would rather we did not use them, use the Your Privacy Choices page or enable Global Privacy Control in your browser. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser, though the cart will stop working properly if you block the essential ones.

Children

This store is not directed at children and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and we'll tell you directly if the change is significant.
